Happy Easter

Easter is this weekend, so we thought we would take some time and share some great Easter projects with all of you. This first layout was made using the new Easter mini cricut cartridge. Cricut now releases seasonal cartridges four times a year with fewer images than a full cartridge, but they are great and cheap!!! In fact, Cindy only has 8 more of this incredible cartridge left for only $19.99 and it's perfect for Easter layouts like the one below. Several of the images included on this cartridge can be used for more than just Easter. All images on this layout are from the Easter cartridge except for the Easter pig. I just love the lamb and the chick!!

Next we have a card using a Magnolia Easter image Wagon with eggs. In addition to this adorable image, you can find several more Easter/Spring Magnolia images here.

Bildmalarna stamps are huge at Stamping Scrapping since Cindy is the official North American distributor. The following cards were made with two of their sweet Easter images Mimosa Easter and Easter Bunny.

These Easter products are sure to help you scrapbook your Easter memories from this or previous years as well as let you get a head start on next year's Easter projects. I hope you have enjoyed our Easter projects and that all of you have a wonderful Easter full of family, fun, and of course chocolate!!!

Fun New Projects

This week for my Stamping Scrapping project, I decided to use some of the adorable new spring CC Designs

stamps that just came in. I used Cherry Emma and the bench to make this project. The paper isBasic Grey Lemonade. I used the Martha Stewart double loop punch around the page for a decorative mat for the image. The sentiment is from label accents of course, and I finished the card off with some Prima and Magnolia paper roses.

I was also working on a project for another challenge with was to stamp on something other than paper. I decided to give shrinky dinks a try and use some of the great new Magnolia stamps Cindy just got in. Now, to stamp on shrinky dinks, it is best to get the kind that are frosted on one side. When you stamp and color on them, stamp on the frosted side. I had intended to use my copics, but the memento ink smeared on the shrinky dink material, so I used colored pencils instead. I stamped my images with staz on and colored them with the pencils, then I cut around them . It is important to remember to punch the hole before you shrink them. The hole will shrink too, so don't punch it too small. Here is a picture of Princess Tilda and Jolly Roger Tilda.
Then, heat them with a heat gun until they finish shrinking. They will curl up on themselves while you are shrinking them, that is normal, they flatten out at the end. I try to hold them in place by putting something like a paper piercer through the hole to hold them a little more still while I shrink them. Here is a close up of the other charms, Tilda with piglet and Sweetheart Tilda before I put them on the bracelet.

And this is what the finished product looked like after I added the jump rings and added them to the bracelet. This is a perfect way to make charms to add to jewelry or even to use on your cards.

Sending Prayers Card

I always struggle with sympathy cards. I never know what to say or how to decorate them. So I challenged myself to come up with a simple but classy design for a sympathy card. I wanted something understated and reserved but that still brought a small amount of joy and uplift to the person receiving it.

I love the elegance of this humming bird image and the sentiment Sending Prayers went perfectly with the feel of this image. The double bow was made quickly and easily with the Bow Easy and I think the corduroy button in the center of the bow gives it that little something extra. I used my Scor-Pal to emboss the double lines on the top and bottom of the card (so easy as the spacing is already set up so both sets are perfectly even). I added the punched edge to the side of the image to give it just a little more visual interest.
I stamped the image on Neenah Solar White Cardstock with Rich Cocoa Memento Ink because I like the softer feel it gives as opposed to using black ink and of course I colored it in using Copic Markers.
